EARTH ODYSSEE
The monkey became a metaphor for the artist and the imitator of nature. Thus, the monkey is the artist itself. Winkhaus also draws on this transformation of the monkey’s image. In her work Earth Odyssey: My Lovable Daemon), she depicts her alter ego, seeing herself as a monkey. Following Boccaccio’s reevaluation of the monkey, Renaissance authors adopted this positive connotation of the monkey as an artist.

Since Darwin, humans have been classified as mammals from an evolutionary perspective and have scientifically examined their own lineage as well as that of other species. Never before have humans maintained a more enlightened relationship with animals—yet, paradoxically, never before have they been more alienated from them. The more animals become objects of our curiosity, the further we seem to distance ourselves from them.

HOPE
"Honi soit qui mal y pense" - "shame upon him, who thinks evil upon it" matches Winkhaus' works. She favors thinking outside of genders keeping her work free of role models. She confronts the cruelty of some situations, in which she implies a participation or even a possible contribution of her childish protagonists, with a pristine beauty that evokes naturalness.

Winkhaus once more shows what she does best: all the loathing of the world wrapped in the most perfect appearance.
Nowadays parents tend to linger after eternal youth. Yet they treat their children as adults and expect them to understand the most complex emotional structures and patterns one can imagine. Asking a two year old child whether it needs love or attention seems to be more normal than to cuddle it properly when it’s crying. With focusing on children only, Tina demonstrates the socially unpleasant dimension of cruelty this paradoxon of juvenile parents and adolescent children implies.

THE MIRROR, AN IMMERSIVE ART INSTALATION
THE MAGIC OF MIRRORS
The mirrored walls created a kaleidoscopic illusion, allowing visitors to continuously rediscover themselves. The reflections enhanced the sense of space while generating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that evolved with every movement.
SEHNSUCHT ODER NEW ROMANTIK
Winkhaus has obviously succeeded in capturing a primal feeling of worry, fascination, and disgust, a sense of disproportion and strangeness of both the whole situation and the characteristics and gestures of "important" people, before the routine gaze makes the scene appear acceptable. Still, she manages to combine the intensity of the first impression with the consistent design she has mastered (composition, post-production, and the merging of dozens of layers in Photoshop, the demanding production of dozens, if not hundreds, of large images that were shot separately beforehand).
UNTER TAGE
TIn the last years Winkhaus has been “down the mine” creating her new exhibition series, Unter-Tage: Shot by God. The 14 large-format pictures offer an entrance into a clandestine labyrinth-like landscape of mountain passages. Each scene emerges with a sudden jolt, as if she has flicked on a torch, to reveal to us a cast of strange figures going about their, often dubious, activities. Winkhaus’s work offers testimony to an intense preoccupation with the political and social themes of our age and a shrewd observation of our gestures.

CAMP IT UP
The car, which Wolf Vostell said in 1969 was the sculpture of the 20th century, remains a popular toy of artistic positions even to the present day, although women artists tend to be in the minority. Winkhaus's "car sculptures" are more reminiscent of Betrand Lavier's red Ready-made Giulietta or Sylvie Fleury's dented hoods than of the flawless surfaces in Robert Longo's airbrushed paintings.

Winkhauses flowers are what we seem to like just in that moment of time. Their colourful bouquet and size are so intense as the case should be with flowers,that we like insects,have to come closer and insist on having direct contact. We soon discover details like the plastic test tube in which the tropical Orhid is bound with a reciding plastic foil wrapped around the stems of the tulips and also the plastic net around the heads of the roses which would normallly be consdered noble. None of these accesoiries have been prearranged and are in stark contrast to all the pictures we normally associate with flowers
